LYRICS

I’ve been living out of shoebox cities
I won’t mind the space when I’m six feet down.
I’ve been jumping country to county,
Haven’t met myself, how can I know your love?
Still haven’t met myself, how can I know your love?
Still haven’t met myself, how can I know you?

I want to lay my head in my mamma’s arms
Count the days, explain how life has just begun.
You are my sunshine baby.
I’m scared that somehow, I’ll somehow let you down.
I’m scared that somehow, I’ll somehow let you down.
Scare that somehow, I’ll somehow let you.

Youth is wasted on the young.
Youth, what have we become?
Youth is wasted on the young.
Youth, I still hear those songs we’d sung.

You know what they say about a photo don’t you?
It could steal your soul and not leave much else.
I haven’t checked in on my people lately.
I think mine know me more than I know myself.
I think mine know me more than I know myself.
I think mine know me more than I know my -

Youth is wasted on the young.
Youth, what have we become?
Youth is wasted on the young.
Youth, I still hear those songs we’d sung.

Sure they’re paper stars but they’re still ours –
We are the cardboard kings of our own worlds.
And my ghost’s been found just as good as new
And my ghost’s been lost but still shining through.
If it’s a sleeping race by now I’d won it all
But I fell into my place where I still try to how.
Winter’s come around but before we’re gone,
Separate into our houses how bout just one more song?

While we’re young, until we’re gone
How about just one more song?
